More often than not, this is where people get stuck. The question pops in their head, ‘how valuable is my home?’ and then they panic, unsure of how to answer.

This is one of many, many reasons as to why you should employ a reputable listing agent. Someone with enough experience that knows a thing or two about your neighborhood can easily give you an estimate. They will do so by analyzing comparable sales while comparing an estimate of value.

If you feel like double-checking yourself, you can use Zillow’s Zestimate platform, but keep in mind that you might spot some discrepancies. Ultimately, if your agent has enough experience and you trust them, you should go with their opinion, as they’re more likely to know the ins and outs of the area you’re currently residing in.

The bottom line is that you shouldn’t leave money on the table and you shouldn’t start with too high a price only to lower it later- it gives buyers and other agents the wrong impression, like something may be wrong with your home!
