Buying fresh tomatoes come cheap, and like most other items on this list you can use them for virtually anything with the added value of using them as condiments or turning them into delicious sauces for your pasta. Of course, you can also have them on the side to add some color to your plate, just sprinkle on some dried basil and you’ve got yourself a delicious side.

Stuffed tomatoes are made in much the same way as stuffed peppers, so that’s a good idea for a good, hearty dinner. If you don’t have any tomato sauce, you can peel and cut a tomato, then add your pasta in a pan and mix everything together. Lastly, you can even try to make a tomato cake if you’re feeling adventurous, as there are plenty of easy to follow recipes online.

All in all, they’re cheap and easy to find, so you can even have them as a snack!
