Canned Tuna or Salmon
For the time being, tuna is considered a cheap food option, though that may change so be wary of fluctuating prices. Some experts think that due to the current crisis, tune anglers may have difficulties going out and fishing which will result in dwindling supplies and skyrocketing prices.
However, we decided to add canned tuna and salmon on our list anyway, in case their prices don’t skyrocket. They are, after all, superb additions to a handful of meals. If you’re looking for something fresh but need a bit more protein you can also toss a few chunks in a salad bowl and add your favorite greens and veggies. Tuna sandwiches, tuna melts, and tuna noodle casserole are also easy to prep!
So not only will you be getting your dose of protein, but you’ll also get healthy Omega-3s. You don’t even need to refrigerate them and they can usually last quite a while- obviously depending on how often you consume the fish.
