14. Sunscreen
Buying sunscreen is always a good idea, no matter where you live and no matter what season you’re in. The sun doesn’t just stop being harmful when it’s cold outside! Experts recommend using sunscreen on a daily basis, so if you regularly apply yours, buying big batches from the warehouse club for you and your family could cost you less in the long run.
But if you’re not so keen on the stuff or if you regularly forget to wear your sunscreen then you might as well just buy smaller bottles. Remember, this stuff has an expiration date too, so yours might expire before you use it all!
15. Lotion
Like sunscreen, lotion also has an expiration date. Consider this before you commit to those big tubs you see at warehouse clubs. They might sound like a good deal, but if you only go through half a bottle before it goes bad, you should just stick to smaller ones in order to save a bit of money in the long run.
By the way, the lotion is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria after it expires, so think twice the next time you see it at the warehouse club!
16. Stamps
Do you regularly send out mail, holiday, or anniversary cards? If the answer is yes then you might think that getting 100 stamps from a warehouse club is a good deal. Here’s the thing. They’re not cheaper at warehouse clubs and they only come in the basic flag design.
If you like to spruce up your mail with nicer designs, buy them elsewhere!
Of course, this doesn’t apply to people who prefer to send emails or texts, so don’t worry!
You should let the next ship definitely sail…..

BECAUSE I AM A SINGLE PERSON, I DON’T BUY A WHOLE LOT FROM THE BIG WAREHOUSE STORES AS PRICES ARE BETTER AT WALMART, DOLLAR, DISCOUNT, OR GROCERY STORES.
THE ITEMS I AVOID ARE THOSE SOLD IN BULK …PAY OUT IS TOO LARGE FOR SUCH LIMITED USAGE.
THE ITEMS I BUY ARE THOSE SOLD IN AMOUNTS I CAN USE, OCCASIONAL BULK ITEMS THAT DON’T SPOIL, THAT ARE A PRICE EQUAL TO OR SLIGHTLY LESS THAN OTHER STORES, CLOTHING ITEMS ON SALE THERE.
THEY SHOULD CONSIDER A WAY TO MAKE IT COST EFFECTIVE FOR SINGLE PEOPLE.
Yes – here is my list:
1. Never buy soda at club stores unless you drink so much that you can’t wait a week for a sale.
2. Don’t buy 100% juice either – I have yet to see a bulk price at a club store that I couldn’t beat at the grocery store sale or discount stores. Most recently, I bought 2 cartons of Doles 100% juice & 100% juice blends for $4.00 at Landis, a store that doesn’t usually have competative prices. And you can buy a 64 oz bottle of apple juice for $1.50-$2.00 on sale always at one of your local food stores. They just can’t match these prices.
3. Potato Chip Brands – Club stores may have great prices on generic brands of potato chips, but if you have a favorite brand of chips, buy them on sale at your local market. They run sales like BOGO free and multiple buy sales such as 2 Utz for $5 or 3 Lays for $6 and straight sales like Goods 12 oz bag $1.99 – just can’t beat these prices in bulk.
4. Ice cream Brands – I have yet to see Club stores beat Turkey Hill Ice cream 48 oz. on Sale for $1.99.
5. Vitamins – Never buy these at Club stores when you can get them on sale 2 for one or buy one get one 50% off at many stores
