Your biggest fear is probably their biggest fear too- having patients wake up while the surgeons are operating on them.
Furthermore, nurse anesthetists also care for patients wake up and ensure the drugs had no harmful lasting effects on them. Recovering from anesthesia isn’t as simple as just waking up, it’s a whole complicated medical process and without the right person by your side it could be extremely uncomfortable.
