Depression Glass
Around the time of the Great Depression, the U.S. and Canada distributed translucent, machine-made glass for free or at a very low price. That’s where the items get their names, but they’re also known as American Sweetheart and you probably have some laying around your house. You’ve probably also seen it used by your older relatives.
Nowadays, collectors can’t get enough of depression glass. Ruby red and cobalt blue variations are most sought after, especially those with the American Sweetheart pattern. Pieces can go for anywhere between $30 to $75 but we’ve seen full sets on eBay for $405!
