A great, filling option for dinner? Chuck roast, of course. For only around $7 you should make some for dinner and then serve any leftovers for lunch. It’s a great choice for when you know you’ll be busy the following day and can’t afford to pick punch out in the city. It’s also a great meal for a family to sit together and enjoy!

Our favorite ideas include an Irish stew, beef stroganoff, and a pot roast!

Potatoes

The Bureau of Labor Statistics notes that you can buy a pound of potatoes for 85 cents, so why not stock up on? They’re full of nutrients and probably the most versatile out of everything on our list.

As one Samwise Gamgee said in Lord of The Rings, “boil them, mash them, stick them in a stew. Lovely big golden chips with a nice piece of fried fish.” you can pretty much use them for every meal.

Add them to your soup or bake them, fry them, mash them to put on the side of your main course. How about Shepard’s pie for dinner? Or lovely, golden has browns for breakfast? Still not enough? Why not make potato bread?

Trust us, if you’re having issues with finances and need something filling to eat that won’t cost you an arm and a leg, reach for the potatoes!
