- & Their produce clerks – They also have a bunch of funny clerks that work on the produce section, because they refuse to restock the counters until the last smashed vegetable is bought by someone. Should someone tell them that it only makes them seem as if they don’t have products anymore?
- The size problem (that’s actually universal, at this point) – So, I think it’s safe to say that the size game on food producers has gone down the hill. In my opinion, at least. A quart is no longer the quart we knew, and an 18-ounce jar of peanut butter is now only 15 ounces. I never thought that I’d come back to my grandma’s words, but it’s true! I mean, it’s pretty obvious which products have been reworked to hide a possible reduction in the amount of product and which have not.
- Shopping for toilet paper – Am I the only one out there that believes we’re getting seriously ripped off one sheet at a time? Because I think it’s becoming harder every day to figure out how much toilet paper you’re about to buy. Is it a single, a double, a triple, or a mega toilet paper roll? I really can’t tell.
- Their cashiers – I don’t know if that ever happened to you, but their cashiers don’t seem to know which vegetables they’re selling. If I had a nickel for each time I hear “What are these?”, I’d buy Meijer.
- And their scanners too! – Oftentimes, their scanners don’t seem to work properly at the self-checkout. What makes things even worse is when their employees keep on saying they had this problem for a while now….well I KNOW!
What’s your take on Meijer’s stores? Have you ever noticed any of these things when you went shopping at Meijer’s? Are there any other stores that offer similar services? I was a customer for over 20 years but after getting a service dog, I no longer shop at Meijer. The employees (manger included) are rude to persons with service dogs. They have no concept of the ADA laws regarding service dogs. They are not polite and have an attitude when approaching the customer with a service dog. The greeting from the greeter is : “You can’t bring that dog in here” and the manager and employees greet the customer with a “You have to take the dog outside”. I sent a letter to the corporate office and received no response.
They need to be educated on the ADA and service dogs and not make up their own policies. Also need to be educated/trained on being polite. My service dog has better manners and behavior than Meijer employees.
