We all know and love Costco for their bulk items sale, which is why some of us have a particularly difficult time saying no to certain items. But can you justify buying 30 rolls of toilet paper?

That’s why it’s a clever idea to shop with a friend in order to split the bill. That 30- pack we mentioned before? It costs $19.50. Split it in half with a friend and you’ll get 15 for the low price of $9.75!

You can do this with any essential and non-essential items. Divide a 42-pack of Chex Mix between you and two other friends and you’ll only pay $5.66 instead of $16.99 for way, way too many snacks.

2. Know the Secret Costco Price Codes

If you’re in the know about Costco’s price codes, you’ll have a better idea of how to structure your shopping spree. You’d be surprised by how much information you can glean from the price tag alone, so let’s talk about that!

If you see an asterisk (*) in the upper right corner of the price, it means that the particular item won’t be restocked. This should give you an idea of what to really stock up on, especially if it’s a favorite of yours.

Prices will usually end in $0.99. Deviations from this standard have different meanings. $0.97 means that prices have been marked down from their original rates. Prices like $0.49, $0.79 or $0.89 mean you’re looking at regularly-priced merchandise. But $0.88 or $0.00 indicate a manager markdown on returned items that are still in good condition.
