Cellphone insurance may sound like a no-brainer. For some people, it is, but few of us actually get to use it and when we do, we still have to dish out for the deductible, which in many cases can be quite hefty.

Either get rid of it altogether or, if you’ve been known to actually use yours, make sure to shop around first. It may be easy and convenient to buy the first one that you stumble upon, but chances are you can find a better deal out there.

Also, if you really must buy one, make sure the package is right for you. For example, you might want to cover accidental damage such as from water, especially if you have a swimming pool!
