Special Payment Rules: SSI and Pre-1997 Beneficiaries
Beneficiaries who began claiming before May 1997 do not follow the Wednesday birth date schedule. Instead, the agency issues these payments on the third day of each calendar month.
Because November 3, 2026, falls on a regular Tuesday, pre-1997 beneficiaries receive their direct deposit right on schedule. When the third day lands on a weekend or holiday in other months, payments shift to the preceding business day.
Dual beneficiaries—individuals receiving both traditional Social Security retirement or disability and Supplemental Security Income—also follow the November 3 timeline for their Social Security benefit. However, their November SSI payment followed a weekend adjustment rule.
Supplemental Security Income recipients will notice zero SSI deposits arriving during the calendar month of November 2026. Because November 1, 2026, fell on a Sunday, the agency issued the November SSI payment early on Friday, October 30.
Because December 1, 2026, falls on a Tuesday, December’s SSI payment arrives on its normal schedule. Consequently, SSI recipients do not receive a late-November advance and must wait until Tuesday, December 1, for their next deposit.

The October 30 payment was an advance for November living costs, not a bonus check. You must stretch that deposit across the entire month until the next SSI disbursement arrives on December 1.
